There are nearly 192,000 publicly available charging ports in the U.S., a significant milestone marking the addition of 9,000 ports in the last three months. This expansion has doubled the national charging network since the Biden-Harris Administration began.
Utah and Rhode Island contributed to this achievement by launching their first NEVI-funded stations in the past three months. Ohio remains a leader, with six open stations and 12 more under construction.
Currently, 69 NEVI-funded charging ports operate across 17 stations in eight states, more than doubling last quarter’s total. Forty states have initiated solicitations, and 29 have issued agreements for over 2,800 fast charging ports at 700 locations.
California, Connecticut, Alabama, Maryland, Minnesota, and Arizona have each made significant progress, announcing millions in funding for EV charging infrastructure. These states have set the stage for future growth, with construction and new stations expected to come online in the near future, helping drive the national expansion of fast charging networks.
