Love’s Travel Stops has announced plans to install EV charging stations across the U.S., funded by the NEVI grant. Recently, they installed their first NEVI-funded chargers at stores in Ripley and Waterloo, New York. Each location features two dual-port 160 kW Level 3 DC fast charging stations, with AC chargers also available.

The company plans to begin construction on four more stations in Pennsylvania and another four in Kentucky this year. Additionally, all new Love’s locations will have space allocated for future EV chargers.

Currently, Love’s operates over 100 EV charging stations at 28 stores across 11 states. By 2025, they plan to expand their network into several more states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Shane Wharton, Love’s president, highlighted the company’s ongoing role in developing a nationwide fast-charging network. Love’s entered the EV space in 2017 and continues to grow its network to meet customer needs, regardless of fuel type.
